7/06/2006 - So long without an update. Ole DW is still around though. First off we want to apologize if you have attempted to register at the history forums and failed. There were some issues. We decided to have the forums hosted by EZboard. This takes care of the registration issues, and also provides a place for information if there are ever problems with the website server itself. Things should be looking up as the Wii and PS3 get closer to release. Stay Tuned -DW * Correction on NES and 5200 pages with tech specs * Changes to Playstation 3, Wii, and Phantom to reflect updates * Added ZaPit Game Wave - Thanks Strizzuth for the info! * Changed FORUMS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9/09/05 - It’s 9pm.. Do you know where your Watcher is today? A nice little vacation gave ole DW the gusto we needed to slip in a console history update. To our disappointment, we were forced to work during the Classic Gaming Expo 2005. So we changed gears and began working on a spin-off to our console history site. We had some issues to juggle in the real world, and a lot of things started piling up. So rather then putting it off longer, we decided an update was in order. The first thing worth noting is the rearranging of menu items. You can now find articles in one place, and features (Such as Rumor Roundup, Crossword Puzzles, and Graphics Evolution) in another. We also have a new BLOG and RSS features thanks to our host Keith Bond. You may also notice the added Google Ads. Hey, this hobby costs money, and we are not one for donations (not yet!). These ads may help us, and will hopefully help you by pointing you to console / game sales. Bah! Enough chit chat...enjoy! -DW * Updated Panasonic M2 * Add Rumor Roundup  * Added Brief History of Controllers (See Articles & Info) * Added meat to Bally Astrocade * Added new image, info and corrections to SG-1000 * Fixed error in Specs and beefed up Channel F history (Thanks Fredric Blåholtz!) * Added a Mario Mascot Graphics Evolution (See Features & More) * Moved "Graphics Evolution" to "Features & More" * Moved "Game Media" to "Articles & Info" * New BLOG and RSS Feed features * Added VTech V.Smile ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11/08/2004 - Real life has been kicking our butts lately, but we didn't want the year to pass without at least a small update. A full time job, and 3 night classes, have really set us back on a few hobbies. At least we managed an update before the end of the college semester. We can then use the break to create more graphic evolutions, and other stuff. What else will we be doing? We are going to the 2004 Classic Gaming Expo (DW's equivelant of Disney Land)! We will be sure to post pics of the event on the next update. It does the heart good to see folks interested in such history. Well this month we took the advice of ebola a member of EmuForums to replace our site tree menu. Well thanks to him we now have a more browser friendly menu that works for Opera and Mozilla users. It also makes it easy for us to add new entries to the script. Thanks ebola! takwu pointed out the remodeled Super Famicon Jr / SNES2. We have added excerpts and images to the SNES page. We also took the time to add more information on the cartridge enhancement chips used on the SNES. Thanks takwu! The new menu tree may have fixed things for most users, but just in case we have kept the older page and renamed it "Older Browser Page". So if your still having problems. Please use that one. We replaced images for the JVC X'Eye, Vectrex, and Arcadia 2001. They looked like crap..these are better :P New console entries! Commodore 64GS, Dina 2-in-1, and Treamcast…Thanks to -Evil_cloud- and [vEX] for the scoop. Special thanks to Semler from Gamers Zone Boards for the images and more scoop. Thanks guys! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5/19/03 - Wow..a five month hiatus. Life can really throw some curve balls. However we are back on the ball, and digging up that console history. So here is what's new: Console emulator updates. Ya gotta love those authors! Added a new article called Microprocessors Some picture updates, corrections, hell...look at the "Other Consoles" page Added 7+ new console historys..Amazing the weird stuff out there. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2/24/03 - The DW Console History page started as a project very deep in our hearts. As fan of video game consoles since a very young age, we wanted to compile a page dedicated to their history. From the 1970's to the present, you will find consoles both familiar and unfamiliar, rarities, clones, prototypes, imports, etc. You will also find console specs, screenshots, and more. If you want time to reminesce or see what we old farts have been playing, there are various emulators also posted to get the console experience on long gone systems. The web design is amateur simplistic. The HTML script will load quickly and easily for 56k use. Our goal was not to make the sight flashy...rather make it informative. Perhaps in the future we will PHPify it. The side menu uses a tree menu script that should work well for most browser users. However Mozilla and Opera users cannot view the script so we have made a simple page for their use. We would once again like to thank Neojag for the banner, and Keith for the web space and motivation. The web page is in no way complete. There are many other consoles that we are reviewing and our graphics evolution page is still under construction. We hope you find the page informative. We will be constantly updating the page with new info....enjoy !
